We hope to use this spot to post stories and photos of our day to day life in Kenya. You will also be able to post messages for us, but please remember that blogs are for all to see. So as a general rule, if it's a personal message send it to our email accounts.
Since this is our first entry, we thought we'd provide a little background on Kenya. For the geographically-challenged among us, Kenya is located in equatorial east Africa between Uganda and the Indian Ocean. It's a diverse country, geographically and culturally. Probably the most fascinating thing--for the outdoor enthusiasts--is that Mt. Kenya lies in the heart of Kenya and directly on the equator, yet it is covered by a glacier. The same is true of Kilimanjaro, which lies to the south on the Kenyan/Tanzania border.
There are so many interesting things about Kenya that I'm sure we'll learn and share. So, check back often.
In the meantime, if you are interested in learning more about Kenya, the following sites will provide a bit more general information. We are also hoping to add reviews and recommendations of great books to read on Kenya as well. (Stay tuned.) In the meantime, see the following websites for basic facts:
- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/kenya (for a general overview of everything from Kenya's geography, history and current affairs to weather)
- www.kenya.go.ke (official Kenyan government website)
- www.kenyaembassy.com (U.S. Kenyan embassy website)
Until next time. Much love,
Nick and Jennie

Nick and Jennie,
I'm in for '08. Nick, I can't wait to see you ride the Wildabeast. Will you be bare back? By the way, let me know if you plan on being a warlord or anything like that. I have some ideas there. I know I will need to brush up on the Swahili a bit.
Still so proud! Love, Uncle John.
